hey i know these are hard to find but ill still throw it out there that id like one. id also settle to have mine flashed to performance ecu spec but only if they could change part numbers to signify its mopar ecu coded. another longshot but hey it doesnt hurt to try.

Dude I know you heard this before, but get SCT. It is hands down best possible mode you can ever buy for your nine. Before last year tuning on this lvl was not available. And we have a best damn tuner period right on our forum. Hemifever!

I'd say go with SCT too but if you really have your heart set on going with an MP PCM I'd be willing to bet that Dodge PCM would work.
Just make sure it's for auto trans and is Federal. Some Dodge 5.9 trucks used a four O2 sensor system but I'm not sure if they made MP PCMs for these four O2 trucks or not. Think that might be Cali or whatever, not sure. Might be better sticking with a 98 but IIRC, it was 98 PCM that changed from the 97 slightly I think, and 98 - 99 should be the same. Just in case it couldn't hurt to go 98. Price seems decent but you might want to post a WTB on some of the Dodge forums (Dakotadurango etc) since a lot of those peeps are probably selling them in favor of going with SCT too. Reason I say it should work - my 5spd Niner is running a stock 98 Dodge 5.2 5spd PCM as a cure for the CELs that resulted when the auto trans was removed. No rewiring, no modifications. I have no CELs now, no problems with Dodge VIN or my security system. I'm not concerned with the 5.2 vs 5.9 parameters as I'll be going with SCT tune on it which will override the 5.2 specs anyway. This way I don't have to worry about trying to cure the auto trans CELs and can just concentrate on the tune itself. |
