Cowl Hood
I want to get a cowl induction hood. Does anyone have any input on which one i should get? I found a cowl hood on ebay with the hood grilles already in it. it is made by a company in california. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/93-98...Q5fAccessories Anyone here have one on thier jeep? I just dont want to gamble on buying a hood i can't take a look at. don't want to pay the body shop to work on a hood for hours just to make it fit and paint ready.
Thanks Joe |

I have it sitting here ready to spray..... I must say, it is good looking and nice. It almost is paint ready from the box, I have less than a hour into prepping it........ He wants me to get him more business, so I am sure he spent extra time on mine...

WOW....
That one's got a wider cowel than mine. See... DSC00519.jpg the frame looks like they took the original frame & attatched it to the cowel cover. Mine is completely from scratch...DSC00565.jpg I wish I knew where it was purchased. ![]() Came with the ride when I bought it.

yes, this is NOT one of those flimsy hoods that shakes and flexes while driving highway speeds. The bracing is fiberglass and can me trimmed for additional clearance if needed.

Uhhhh this one's not flimsy... She holds firm an has its own fiberglass framing which gives it good rigidity.
so I found out one day when I didn't lock it down & canopened my windshield entering the highway. Popped like an airbrake on a 727 ...all it did was chip the paint in ONE little corner... & ripped $200 from my pocket. Then I invested in some hoodpins fo $20. Live N Learn I guess. did I mention I did this twice B4 hood pins....? can anyone top my IQ now? I shoulda taken pics. would've been a nice before N after N before N after visual as to what the last sound you wanna hear is B4 starting the truck after you've been under the hood....

hoodpins ftw - even with my stocker i am considering hoodpins lol. 90mph for 5 hours to/from school my hood lifts up from the fenders quite a bit

Davit, where is that pic from?
Do the black vents mean they are separate pieces or added on afterwards or are they part of it and just detailed black in that pic? |
