Broke my dash gauges installing indiglo
Was wondering for those that have done an Indiglo gauge swap out how you performed the install since there aren't any instructions in the kit..... or at least not in mine. Were you able to integrate the dimmer into the factory dimmer to eliminate having 2 dimmers? (cleaner look I think)
I ended up messing mine up and I am afraid I will need to get another dash gauge cluster. BTW: If anyone has a set they are willing the part with, I am interested. I removed the needles, which was a bad mistake on my part.... partly due to some nyqil and not thinking about it right.

removing needles = busted gauges
![]() im not sure how the wiring works for those, but could you not grab a signal off of the radio dimmer??

As for getting a dimmer signal, I am going to use the dimmer/light control module. The indiglo light package comes with 4 gauge templates (indiglo gauges) and a control module, which has 3 wires coming off it (4 harness plugs, dimmer controller, and power lead (red/black)). I can get a pinout from the dealer/service department, which will give the correct power terminals on the factory dimmer module to power the indiglo gauges when the lights are turned on, vs having them constantly on.... THen I can strip the insulation from the dimmer controller (hoping there is just 2 wires).... these should be easy to match up to the factory dimmer and just solder onto the circuit or crimp into the factory harness. As for attaching the new gauges, I wont take the needles off this time.. nor will I lift off the old (black) gauges, but double stick tape the new ones in place. I'll do a writeup on it when I get my new cluster. |

here's what the ebayer sent me after I supplied a comment about no instructions..
It isn't exactly like ours, (XJ instructions), but will give the general idea.... Also doesn't go into steps about how to integrate into the factory dimmer like I want to. And I also believe the ZJ has separate bulbs for the other dash items, so you could still remove just the dash lights for the gauges (7 bulbs I believe). |

thinking the nyquil I took for a headcold is the variable that caused the issue(s).
Some work... some do not. Since I can't start the engine, I do not know if the computer is able to reset the gauges... Cause when the ignition is on, 5 of the gauges register incorrectly now. |

I got my new/used set of gauges and babied them last night, so new indiglo is installed, just need to finish up with some double stick take and notch out a place for the wires to fit, then will start on the modification for the dimmer integration.... of this will all be after I get my engine to crank.
