5.9 Top Speed

Anybody test top speed on their modded 5.9? I chickened out at 130 as the front end was vibrating due to a worn ball joint.

unmodded it took a long time for me to get to 103, the other day it shot right up to 105 (probably faster cause of my larger than stock tires) without ANY problem. Thats the fastest i've ever been, i can't imagine 130.

105? That can't be right, not with your mods, maybe your rims are too heavy?

Thanks for the input guys, I think it'd be safe to say I could do 140, I don't feel comfortable going that fast in an SUV but it's nice to know I can if the liquor store is closing in 51 seconds!

Fastest i have had mine is 113 and that was stock and i was limited to that. I have a tad bit bigger tires on it now and it takes forever to get up there. It seems to die at about 100mph. I havnt hit the limiter since stock. 235/75/16 firestone destination ATS

Before headers and tires.

After headers and tires.

mopar PCM speed limiter was 135, and i did that numerous times. was smooth at that speed.

now in the stang, i pinned the speedo at 155, and kept going for a lil bit

I know one of the JU SF OGs had a vid of his at 136 but the link was dead by the time I saw the thread.

I think it was Moparman IIRC.

dropped 3 inches and all polly suspension, addco swaybars and tube control arms. it has more in it past that but i lost 2 ventvisors on that lil pull.

funny thing is my jeep is such a revver now it starts to really wake up at 100. it goes from 110 to well pinning the speedo the same time it does going from 60 to 100

i have a better vid with some weight out it goes much better in the new vid im just trying to upload it
