Careful on those intakes xrad - most of those on that page were LA intakes. You've got to specify Magnum or by year 96 and up when you search. (Magnums actually started 92 or 93 but you don't want the early version with the EGR flange)
LA intakes and heads have a different 'intake to head' bolt angle than the Magnums and aren't interchangeable.

I think there's basically the M1 2 & 4bbls and the Hughes Airgap for us. Prob a few more but those are the only I hear mentioned.

But like I said in JeepinJon's build thread - aftermarket intakes have a certain "coolness" factor, but they really aren't necessary and aren't good bang for the buck unless you've got a lot of other mods to go with it. P&P'd or aftermarket heads, cam, etc etc.

Ported and polished kegger isn't as "cool" - but for free labor and topped off with a BLKDAKRT P&P'd throttle body it's hard to beat, and you can spend that money on other upgrades.

IF uncle obozo lets me keep some of my money and not spend it all on the lazy asses that are sucking this country dry (sorry, sore subject) I am looking at these items and yes I would love Kolak but I doubt I will have that much to play with. : What are your thoughts?

I did that cap, rotor, and wire set and I had the mo par performance wires with a recent cap and rotor and my butt dyno could sure feel a difference plus the idle smoothed out.
    currently jeepless.

So the Mopar ones were better? What Cap and Rotor did you use? What plugs, I know Kolak says go one "colder" with his set up, would I need to with this and I am not really sure what that means? Stock 5.9 takes "XXX" plug, one colder would be "XXX"?

Have seen some 9'rs talking about sprucing up the engine area, seen several painted undercarriage parts. Found this Cobalt blue in a can so I might have to tinker some also. I think it would go good with the exterior. http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/RUS...130201161114:s

Well, I finally got to do something today during nap time. I finally was able to get that dam TC drain plug out. I had to use a pipe nipple extractor from Harbor Freight and essentially beat it in. Then I could not get enough ass on it to turn it, so I grabbed the impact and bumped it a few times and it came out. Lets just say the picture of the fluid does not do it justice, looked like milky prune juice.

yea, I was so over it. It was actually going cock eyed when I was trying with the socket. I had heat on it and everything. I figured I would either get it out with the impact or have to move up a size on the extractors. Tomorrow will be an oil change after my weekly trip to pull a part.

Daddy's going to to candy store tomorrow... just checked the local pull a part and they got two 1998's in today. I'll be there in the morning. Should be around 29 degrees but that just means that the blood will freeze/clot quicker. LOL

Oh well, both were Laredo 4.0 but in really good condition. I grabbed the passenger fender off of the other Limited I have been messing with and some slotted and drilled rotors off one of the Laredo's. Rotors look practically new.

Here is a picture of what I grabbed and a couple of a TC that I tripped over. They are laying everywhere and there are two more on the '98s that came in. IMG_20130202_101416.jpgIMG_20130202_094629.jpgIMG_20130202_094619.jpg

I was looking through the Calderon Borne build and noticed the use of the WJ mirror, among a lot of other great things and ideas, I am only on page 13! What is benefit of the mirror change?

After putting AJ to bed (thats anti-jeep, meaning my grandson) I dumped some engine flush in, let it run for about 10 minutes, then changed the liquid tar. Man that oil was black. Also quickly remembered how hot the dam crossover/y-pipe gets. Changed out a no name oil filter with a Mopar one. I think the engine actually runs smoother. I took a video of starting the jeep but I cant get it off of my tablet. Tried uploading from it to here earlier and failed at that. So we will see. But I am leaning towards a starter issue. Jeep had a ATF leak on the starter side of the block where the lines tied into radiator and it pissed ATF everywhere. Contacts looked real oily on the starter.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no.

Those are for the earlier American Motors (RAMBLER FTMFW!!!! ) motors that Jeep used before Chrysler bought them out.

Totally different engines, so I doubt the port and bolt patterns would match up

I think you and lilbullie need to join Richie/scjeep4.7HO and do a Hulk green detail theme on your builds.

lilbullie cuz he likes the comic books and the Hulk character, you cuz - well, gamma radiation and all

Did you ever find out anything about that rebuild package? - that was you that posted it right?

No idea how much that stuff would cost to buy, but I'd think 95% of it would be usable for us. Probably more than that cuz I don't think there were any 5.2 R/Ts so it probably is for a 5.9.

And of course it depends on what kind of build he was planning on, whether that cam is something you'd want or not. With that 4bbl TB and intake I would guess he was going for some serious power, so if you didn't need that you could sell that stuff and maybe the cam etc, buy a new cam and keep your kegger depending on where you wanted to end up, and the headers would probably sell quick on the Dodge forums.

I thought about the green. But leaning towards a cobalt blue for small parts. Green does get associated with radiation, but Cherenkov Radiation is when Nuclear fuel is in a pool of water and the only time you can "See" radiation. It is a really awesome blue. 4092138191_3382ef425a_z.jpg

Im thinking diff covers, maybe skid plates. Speaking of, found the front skid plate for 35 dollars. Mine has no skid plateds at all. I dont like that. Was also thinking of doing the coils (how well do they hold paint) and maybe blue shock boots. Then doing some engine bay stuff and the wire loom like Logan as doing in red. This will all be done along with cleaning the underside like Nick and Rick have done.

Ok, gonna try and flush all the water and junk out of radiator soon. What is the best and easiest way without hacking hoses? Keep the cap off and drain open while adding water? Just fush, then drain, then flush again while keeping the system closed? I have heard about parking it on an angled incline to "burp" it.
