Anybody ususing the Hooker Aerochamber? The FM70 on my 4.7 WJ is rusted out at the outlet after 130,000 mi. I'm thinking of trying the Aerochamber. I heard one on a built 5.2 at the track once and it sounded nice. And there is that infamous video of whats-his-name terrorizing the suburbs with the Aerochamber on his old 5.9.

But I would be interested in hearing from anybody who has experience with this muffler on the 4.7.

I don't think the magnaflow's sound good IMO. I like a deep mellow tone, and the magnaflow is too quiet. I like the sound of a Flowmaster, but I wouldn't get one because I heard they are too restrictive.

I guess I will have to post some sound clips of my exhaust when it gets put back together but my magnaflow is anything but quiet.

Me no like the way Magnaflows sound. I've seen the aluminized cases rust very quickly, too.

I have been prefectly content with 3-chamber Flowmasters on all three of my Jeeps for years. They are durable and sound good to my ears - just ready to try something new.

I can vouch for Glitch's setup, havent heard a good clip of it but mine is essentially the same except I run no cats whereas he has 2 precats
+ high flow cat, its pretty nasty.

Regarding the aluminized cases rusting, My 5x8x18 aluminized Mag lasted 3 Jersey winters before I sold it to my friend without any real rust. It was tainted brown from mud instead

Yes, I was referring to you here in my original post:

"And there is that infamous video of whats-his-name terrorizing the suburbs with the Aerochamber on his old 5.9."

I decided to go with an Aerochamber for my 5.2, which I'll probably fabricate a side-exit for; and a FM SUV50 for my 4.7. The Aerochamber for some odd reason does not seem to be available as a center in / offset out, and I dont want to monkey with the pipes other than fabricating a short extension. The SUV50 will line up with the tailpipe exactly where the old FM70 came out, and I know it wil sound good on the 4.7. Same tone as my existing setup, just a little louder.

dynomax has cheaper construction than any other - i have seen more than a few of them rust and fall apart. magnaflows wont rust - for a LONG time.

Well let's think about it this way, if I paint it, high temp paint and all, wouldn't it last a bit longer?
