    Bullitts on a Slate Niner ! !

It's been a long time in the making but I finally got the ol' girl lowered and the Bullitts mounted that I've had sitting around for over a year now.

I'm in love with how it handles and how it looks.

    Pics for your viewing pleasure.

Two comparison pics from roughly the same angle. Looks lots better with more rubber and less fender gap ..... also corners like it's on rails with these 9.5" wide tires and crazy stiff springs

Nice! I like the way it sits.

    Did you use H&Rs?

I know what you mean about the gap in the wheel wells. That's one thing about the ZJs I don't like. I'm from the musclecar era and wheel wells don't look right to me unless they're stuffed with rubber LOL

They're 5.9_Racer's old H&R's. Purchased them from the new owner was too long ago .... Easiest instal I've ever done on a vehicle, other than brakes on the Jeep .... that was way too easy.

I was hesitant on stuffing that large of a tire in there as I was worried about rubbing, and it does on teh LCA's at full lock, but I'm SO very glad I went with the bigger tire over the stock size. They look very nice and fill up all the ugly gaps quite nicely ! ! !

I did have to machine out the center of the rims for them to fit on the rear hubs. Twas a bitch indeed but with a few barley pop's and the trusty Dremel in hand, they turned out great.

That large of a tire? I currentley have a 96 5.2 limited that has 275/45/20 and did have 285/45/19. I also have a 98 5.9 that has 255/55/18 that it came with and will soon get the 275/45/20 tires from my wrecked 97 Orvis. All 3 have H&R springs and the Orvis had 295/45/20 Pierelli Scorpins on it when I first built it 9 years agoso I ran a Firestone store for over 20 years so I had easy acess to tires and rims. You can also run a 275/45/20 front 315/35/20 rear split on 8.5 and 10.5 rims if you can afford it. Your 5.9 looks awsome with those wheels, great job. Roger

Looks great! can't wait to get my torq thrust (same style) back on mine this week

And, I want to get those springs as well.

But, my 255/55/18 don't rub...something up front rubs at full lock, but, for some odd reason I think its the wheel (grinding noise). I don't often turn sharp enough to make it do it though.

Put some nice white inserts in them yesterday. Looks good

I was pounding through drifts that came over the hood. It was quite interesting keeping it on the road for a few miles with the snow and ice underneath.
