It is by far the best bike I have ever ridden. I have tried out my friends' gsxr, zx10 and R1 and nothing even comes close. The power is insane but it comes on so smooth that it is "deceivingly fast". It also hugs the corners like there is no tomorrow. I didn't plan on getting one until I rode one and there was just no comparison. Its something like 20lbs lighter and has way more horsepower. Even compared to the 06 CBR it is a night and day difference. With my 06 the rear end never really felt planted to me, you could never really gun it around a corner without getting at least a little wheel spin. But with the 08 the tires stays planted. Not sure if it is becuase it is a different tire compound/manufacturer or not but the whole bike feels like it seamlessly integrates with your body.

Don't do it unless you plan on buying it....seriously. The only down side to the entire bike is the seat is a little stiff, but every honda I have ever owned has been so nothing new.

    Does yours burn oil?

You should have gone to a 190/55 series rear tire on your 06.

It makes it feel like a totally different bike.

Also switching to Pilot Power tires give you the grip you are looking for.

The 2008 does not put out "so much more HP" .. maybe 3hp difference.

The biggest thing is the weight (08 is lighter) and the mass centralization. The thing feels lighter than a 600 when you sit on it.

02 gsxr 1000 stroked 1097 turbocharged with 40hp shot NOS

Hi, This is my toy. 2002 GSXR 1097 stroked, turbocharged, with NOS. It has everything chrome, custom made rims, 200 rear tire. I have polished or chromed everything, not one detail was spared. I did everything myself, except the motor. Motor is bulletproof, ported, clay flowed, and cust ground cams. I kill alot of back tires.....

My 99 Katana. I know,I know laugh it up. I bought this bike from a salvage pool auction if you can imagine that. 17k and it needed a turn signal and a peg bracket on the right side. Also needs a cam chain tensioner.Scufffed the can up a little but for $925 I didnt complain and it rides right.
    Attachment 575
It also needed a new back tire so we all pooled our money and timed how long it would take to blow it.The result was at 4200RPM for exactly 36 seconds.LOL I would not ever do this again in shorts, the hot rubber burns like a MOFO!
I had to replace the bike I have stored for years for a friend so I got to ride it whenever I liked. This is the first sport bike I have owned since 90.Back then I had a 79 KZ1000Z1R and I miss it alot.
    Attachment 574
This is my friends bike that I stored while he was away. Didnt run very fast but looked good and was comfy. That's My Dak in the background

    I have one of these:

It's fun, but I don't ride it too much anymore since I got my dog. He doesn't fit so well on it. I looked at a few sidecar rigs last summer so he could come with me, but it'd be an awful lot of training to get him to stay in the car. I still might give it a shot, though.

Here's some recent pics of my 08 Buell 1125R. I got rid of the factory side fairings and installed a belly pan from an XB series Buell. I cant see the logic of hiding that Rotax motor behind a fairing.

I also installed my "Kick ash" translucent airbox cover,it's not a real good pic but you can see the air filter in there.
