Further investigation on the stock WJ front bar: it may indeed be solid. UT thickness readings showed the same as the diameter that I measured with my calipers.

Any year WJ arm. They have a curve in them which allows for a wider tire with out rubbing when turning. They are also boxed which is always nice.

I just put it in 2wd and with my Aussie Locker,,, I can change from understeer to Oversteer with a slight press on the "GO" peddle

But I do like the Idea of the WJ front sway bar,,, might be on the list for winter time.

We needvsomehow a definitive answer on weather the adco bar or wj bar is stiffer.

Is my thinking correct that even if the bar isn't stiffer due to od or it being hollow it ma in actuality be harder to twist because it mounts further to the rear and thus the arms that stick off the bar are shorter and provide less leverage?

The WJ front bar is slightly larger than the (non-military) zj addco. As I said, my stock WJ bar measured almost 1 3/16. My calipers were reading 1.181 - 1.183. I took the bar to work and used the ultrasonic thickness meter to see how thick the tubing was but it was actually reading 1.180 - 1.182 indicating that the bar is solid.

Its possible the addco is made out of a stiffer steel, but for the money the WJ bar should still be a sweet upgrade.

I suppose if I got bored I could pull the addco off my zj and do a test to compare the deflection to the stock wj bar.

Yes, I have the addco now. I'm wonder if the wj bar is an upgrade. It may be an upgrade if only to rid myself of the horrid addco end link system

Well you could spend the money for the WJ addco (1.25" dia), or hunt the junk yards for one. They still use the wj oem end link system.

I got my 5.9's front and rear Addcos from Kolak and, because he believes the included Addco Endlinks to be sub-standard, he provided me with Energy Suspension Universal Endlinks (front and rear) to use instead...

I believe that he includes (these same) Energy Suspension Universal Endlinks with every ZJ Addco that he sells--I don't know if they're the same part number front and rear, but I think that they typically sell for ~$20 or so per set/pair/axle...

What year wj did the front swaybar come off of, im wondering if i was to buy an aftermarket wj swaybar if it would be even bigger than the stock one you found.
Is anyone sure if this wj front bar actually has a larger o.d. than a stock 98 zj front bar?
I was just about to order up a new set of bars for my 98 zj but since i saw this thread that plan is now on hold.

Why hasent anyone thought to weld the L brackets to the OEM tabs on the axle? Problems solved.

ive long toyed with the idea of going to stock 93-95 endlinks with poly bushings installed in them... but id rather have wj style endlinks.. that on its own would be reason enough to go to the wj bar

If the Addco bar is that bad, why even bother? Id rather keep my OEM bar and have no problems that go with a "better" bar just to cause myself more headaches.

OK but again why bother? The bar is useless if you cant keep the links from falling apart. Id rather stick with my OEM bar an dknow its not going anywhere than deal with l brackets that crack, bend, fall off, whatever they do.
