ok - "600 mile an hour tape" - where can you buy it?

I don't know the actual name of the product but I've always heard it referred to as 600 mph tape, 200 mph tape, etc.

It's basically aluminum foil from hell - on steroids.

The stuff has gorilla mondo strong adhesive on the back under a peel off backing. Much thicker than aluminum foil but not quite thick enough to be called sheets.

IIRC it's pretty malleable and can be cut easily with tin snips, possibly even scissors?

I've heard it referred to as 600mph tape cuz it's been used more than once to repair "mishaps" that occurred when loading a cargo plane with a forklift

So anyone know the actual name of this product and more importantly - where to buy it?

Guessing it's fairly expensive stuff. I've used it and I've known people that had it but it's always something they just "picked up somewhere" LOL

you know I usually google the shit out of stuff and always have great luck, but it honestly didn't occur to me that it was such a widely used nickname.

Unfortunately most of what I'm finding listed as "speed tape" is completely different stuff.

Found some here from Maxitape but their catalog isn't downloading for me. http://www.maxitape.com/tape/product...speedtape.html

Still looking for vendors/prices but I got stuff to do so I'll have to get back to it later.

Expensive stuff. Found one airplane tech thread that mentioned - like 50 - 70 a roll. Doesn't even say what size it is and that thread was from back in 05 I think.
so... at that price and considering I don't need very much, maybe I'm not looking for it anymore!

Wonder if I have any left? Finding anything around here is a bitch since the move tho (it's like... didn't I have another ZJ? I swear I bought a black one too. )

j/k - there's a few places I need to use something like that to patch up some stuff - although it would come in real handy on the lightweight too!
