Not at all bro, unless you buy used. You're looking at the 4bbl carb intakes.

Yea, that's what I was doing. Was stoked that I could get an intake from Edelbrock for a little over $200. Not for fuel injected Magnums though

woops. This one from summit for $350. A bit more if you add in installation hardware, etc. So i was roughly correct.

Roger, i parked next to Mahdeys truck today on campus. ME WANT. He probably laughed when he saw me jeep next to him

There was a lot of ghetto shit involved with the hughes manifold install.

When I called hughes to talk to them on the phone they sounded like a bunch of backwoods hicks too.

The reason I went with the hughes was because at the time the m1 was $80 more and on backorder.

To the people feeling the top end improve, I'm willing to bet anything what you are feeling is a loss of midrange power, so when your motor gets higher in the RPM is gets back into it's powerband and you start think "niiiice top end".

From my and Colin's dyno graphs there is absolutely nothing that suggests that these aftermarket manifolds make any power. I blame the stock heads, it's the only thing I can think of.

I'm shocked people have been modding 5.9's for years based on very little factual evidence.

I am going to look into having my Jeep dynoed before and after the install. Im tired of not having definitive proof.

That's wierd. I had a totally different install experience. The only thing I had to fab was lengthening the wires for the intake temp. sensor. Everything else fit perfectly. No cutting, hacking, or rigging of anything.
I have a fairly early example with the welded in fuel injector bungs.

They are just the stock rails. I have the big aluminum brackets that hold them in position.

Edit: I found a few pics in my photobucket account:

Hmm that looks a lot different than mine. I wonder if they changed the design to cut costs?

That's the worst part. And even when I called to inquire about a cam setup, they tried selling me everything under the sun to include the SCT tuner which I obviously already have and told them that about 3x on the phone. And of course they tried selling me their Airgap manifold as well. I declined to elaborate on the phone with them at that specific point in the existence of time exactly why I did not like their manifold and would never order it.

I'm glad you are thinking along the same lines as Milan and I. I'll be eager to see your dyno charts man. Let us know in the dyno thread about everything

Mine had a Felpro set. They were all similar to stock Mopar stuff.

Porting and polishing intake manifold has been proven to work for years. Hence the ported kegger and TB mod.

With M1 intake, heads, cam, rollers and a tune with timing pulled( run out of fuels on stock injectors) I was able to make close to 100 extra horses. Would have been more if my injectors were bigger.
If you would have at least done your cam you should have seen a major improvement.
From what I can tell you have no mods supporting that intake manifold.
For that $600 you spent cam and rockers would have been a better purchase.

I think dynoing against a stock 5.9 with an SCT on the same day with the same size tires on back to back runs is plenty to prove that the mods don't do anything.

Even the $2,000 weight reduction from my wallet and I still made less power then Colin

Edit: Since you are nitpicking, I will too.

Well in that case congratulations on the money well spent

I bought my M1 back in 2007. It didn't get installed until early 2009 because I knew that it wouldn't do much on stock top half.
It was waiting for me to get heads, cam and rockers. Reason why i bought it was that Kolak had it in stock and mentioned that they disappear periodically so I didn't want to be in that boat.
Like I said it is not really surprising to me that you didn't see any gains.

Yeah, he told me that early last year. I talked to him the other day and he said they decided to do another run on them, which is why you can still buy them new.
