4.7 pcm swap with a tuned one coming from a 4.7 HO

    Hi guys,
me and my friend Ale ( know that in a junkyard close to where we live there is a wg 4.7 HO with a superchip tuned pcm.
question is: is it possible to just swap out the pcms? will the engine run o a different pcm? any issues with the keys?

I'm not sure if the security stuff would be an issue or not. Other than that, the swap will have issues. A 4.7 HO has an extra knock sensor that a regular 4.7 doesn't, so you'll have a check engine light and possibly other issues. And the engines are different enough internally that the tune for the HO won't be correct for a regular 4.7 (and may not end up being any better than stock power-wise). The HO also revs higher from the factory, not sure how much you can safely raise the rev limit on a standard 4.7.

Basically, I wouldn't swap it. If you want the 4.7 tuned, just tune the existing PCM.
