    Mild Nitrous Setup

    When summer hits, I'll be swapping my kegger for a 2bbl M1. Once I do that, I'm getting tempted to spray the Jeep. I'd be looking at something in the range of a 50 - 75 shot (would be a wet shot). Within that realm, what would you guys suggest? I'm thinking maybe a 2 stage setup, 35 shot hits at 2500 and another 35 or 50 shot on top of it at 3000 or so.

    At what point do I need to start worrying about timing retard? What would be the best way to handle the timing retard?

    I finally gave in and started spraying mine late last year. I have a fresh crate 5.9, maybe 4,000 miles on it now. Its running a 3 inch exhaust with custom 2.5 Y pipe from the manifolds, a new intake hat with tube and filter, and a coil. Thats about it. Stock plugs even, but I run 93 octane (love texas)

    It's a kit I bought used from my brother in law, but basically a single stage, wet fogger from NOS (think blue bottle). I have the fuel line feed coming off the schraeder valve on the fuel rail. ( I do have a trick flow inline pump added though).

    I started with a 75 shot to be safe and not hurt anything ( .040 nitrous Jet and a .028 fuel jet ) It ran great, pulled hard, but didn't "feel" like nitrous in the movies you know?

    I then stepped it up to a 100 shot, and had a lot of fun with it. Got bored again.

    So then I stepped it up to a 125 shot / 100 at wheel (.053 nitrous jet, and .035 fuel jet). Now that shit is FUN. You definitely get pushed back in the seat, the engine wakes up INSTANTLY, and sounds PISSED OFF. I love the way it screams on Nitrous. I may even step it up to 150 later. I always spray mine with 1 - 2 jets richer on the fuel. I could get a cleaner hit / more power if I leaned it out, but I like the safety of running a tad rich.

    It's still running great, never detonates, nothing. The general rule of thumb is it's safe to run 50% of original HP rating. So if your counting 245hp, a 125 is safe. In reality the magnum series have decent bottom ends on them, with nice rods and blocks. I have heard guys running a 150 hit regularly and even a guy spraying 200hp for over 3 years. Then upped it to a 300 shot with some engine mods.

    So basically, you wont even notice a 35 coming in, nor the 50 when you step it up. It would drop a little time off your quarter but not much. If your going to do it, I would run a nothing less than a 75. You'd like a 100 or 125 better.

    No room to run a plate style like shown.... you will have to do it with nozzles like Pilotguy

    You can normally find the single EFI fogger nozzle, wether it be NOS (brand), ZEX, or nitrous express for around $400-450 if you look hard.
