    I'm running:

    MSD SS Blaster Coil
    Magnacore race wires
    Autolite iridium plugs
    brass cap/rotor.

SIDENOTE: For those that are cutting their factory coil harness to use an aftermarket coil like the MSD SS Blaster (This one uses screw post terminals)... The GREEN w/ORANGE stripped wire is the POSITIVE and the Gray with Black Strip is NEGATIVE. This was verified by schematics on file at the Jeep Dealer.

that might not be the reason you jeep idles poorly. flip your key a look for error codes. sometimes maps and tps sensors go bad or a O2 and that really makes for a poor idle.

For those running the MSD boxes... I assume you also have a supercharger that is requiring the additional retarding or ignition controls?

Have you looked in to irdium plugs? They are supposed to last the longest and have a very good spark

Anyone have any experience with Performance Distributors - Jeep Firepower Ignition Kits?

    http://www.performancedistributors.com/jeep.htm

Would you believe it, my 5.9 still has factory stock wires, plugs, and cap. It's still running strong, but I want to upgrade it to get a little more performance...

Is the kit above a good one?

$35 for a cap & rotor is highway robbery.

$65 for that coil is overpriced (go MSD replacement anyway)

i prefer magnecor KV85 wires, just because they are lifetime warrantied, for pretty much the same price.

I run that setup for two years. Cap, rotor, coil and wires. Just replaced the wires with MSD 8.5mm from summit. Thinking about doing the same with the coil...

Can you give me some detail on a good setup then? I do not know anything about ignitions, and I have had some tell me the Screamin Demon coil is awesome. My current ignition is getting worn out and I want to upgrade it soon. Thanks for any info.

sorry, i saw yellow and assume that was an accel coil.

get a cap/rotor from any decent parts store, thats what i do, and i always end up getting copper terminals on my caps.

magnecor wires you can ebay/google, they are great wires. around the same price as that site was.

i prefer MSD coils, since they have never let me or my friends down.

go to walmart and grab some autolite 3923 plugs, and with that stuff your good to go!

alternatively, email kolak, since he sells it all in a kit!

Motorcraft battery with very large cables. MSD ProBillet distributor, 6AL, MSD 8mm wires. NGK -7 or -8 plugs gapped to .020 with resultant bitchy cold starts on E85.

No Splitfire/ Pulstar/ Unicorn Fart sparkplugs here, just what works.

the 4.7's use COP's - i dont remember hearing about aby upgraded coils for them - although there are a couple different options for mustangs with COP's, not sure if they woudl work tho.
