It was a custom job according to the PO. The cowl is fiberglassed onto the original 5.9 hood and is functional.

Got the engine out and the engine bay pressure washed. Still needs a little more cleaning up though.

    lookin good!

as for a "secondary pump" - those vortech setups IIRC used a second "puller pump" - they came with fittings to tee in between the fuel rail and fuel line, and when under boost would activate, pulling more fuel through the factory pump.

crappy design. go with a walbro 255 in the stock basket, 2 BAR MAP and SCT from flyinryan.

    Thanks for the compliment guys.

Saleen4971, I'll PM Flyinryan about the the tune.

Update, installed the back hatch and fiddled with the latch, now you can open it with one finger. Also, all the door locks and window motors work! Having owned several ZJs, having perfectly working doors always makes me smile.....also got the supercharged engine out today. Then I just sat there and admired it for a while. Its got edlebrock headers which I'm not sure are that big of a deal. I think the stock manifolds and a larger Y pipe would flow as good or better judging by the way all four tubes squeeze into one. And as mentioned, its an M1...p/n P5007852.

While you have the engine out, take a picture of the PS mount on the head. Please....

Sure, I'll try to get a pic up tomorrow....but as far as I can recall, its the same as any magnum engine. There's an aluminum bracket that bolts to the right/driver's side head that the PS pump bolts onto.

Eddys are better then stock manifolds, but the thorleys are better.

If it already has those though, imo the power gain isnt enough to justify the cost.

    Roger that Saleen...

Yesterday I got almost everything pulled out of it that I think I could need and the donor went under the sawzall. Its going to scrap in a few days.

It had a MSD pn 8977 boost controller under the dash. Trying to study up on how to wire the whole ignition system up.

What part number Walbro have you guys used? I've read about a 255 lph and a 255 high pressure pump. Summit has several different part numbers for the walbro....?

Have stripped the donor of just about everything, just gotta get the front axle out. Also working on a broken header bolt stuck in the head. The old weld a nut trick didn't work, so I'm drilling it out hopefully I can save the threads or I'll have to use a helicoil.

OMG! How to convert a Jeep into a golf cart. I admire your dedication and the fact that you don't let grass grow under your feet. Your neighbors must love you.

This reminds me of some pictures my grandfather has from his college days. He and his frat brothers got a bunch of beer and hacksaws one weekend. On Monday morning the 46 Chevy pickup that had been sitting in their backyard went out with the city trash.

Keep up the fast paced work!

Thanks Mona,,,btw, my dear sweet mama is named Mona....I love her almost as I love you're SC niner!

anyway sorry about the lack of updates.......work has been slowed in the last week or so by recent severe afternoon thunderstorms, humidity and heat, and two $$$ draining soirees to Daytona with some old army buddies of mine which always seem to culminate with extreme $$$ losses on the way back north on the Emerald Princess gambling boat out of Brunswick, GA....In the last couple of years driving from TX to GA, I have never walked out of a Shreveport or Vicksburg casino without being 1-5K in the black,,,but these last trips with my old buddy has ruined my good luck...I think I should retire from gambling boats and stick to good ole land based casinos....

I did get linked in with Ryan for a SCT tune...but I'm going to get it running first with the PO's setup and ensure the engine is good before I drop anymore $$ into it. Its almost together, just a little bit of wiring left and I need to get the TC hooked up....lost my right leg a few years ago to an infection while working as a contractor in Iraq, now my back hurts and I just hate crawling under a vehicle (i know,,,oh, woe, woe is me haha)....so I'm saving the TC and drive shafts for last.

Me doing "Love me tender" somewhere, I don't remember where.....Elvis doesn't have @&%# on me!

Been working at night due to the heat....anyone like my shop light? haha...

That center photo should be used as the definition for why it's called a serpentine belt.

Got it just about put together now, I'll get some pics up tomorrow. I need to finish up a little welding on the exhaust, swap the radio and steering wheel and the A pillar gauges. Looking to get it cranked in a day or two.

Sorry, pics on the way time now...

Getting the exhaust in... not fancy but it should work. Basically butt welded where it was previously cut.

This Jeep has zero rust,,,only very minor surface rust in a few spots.

Old boogers on the right, new boogers on the left.

Spent a couple hours today trying to figure out why it wouldn't crank, I wasn't trying to start it, just double checking my wiring and trying to get the starter to bump....everything was wired right so I figured it was the starter. Turned out to be a bad solenoid, plus the shifter wasn't fully registering that it was in park and the NSS wasn't playing fair.... Rummaged around my garage and found a good starter. Guess which one?

Kinda of long day going through the wiring, had to replace a tail light, fog lamp bulb and 3 194 bulbs.

Its got a bad parasitic drain, the fog lamps were on in this pic but not lit. The battery was down to about 9 v at this point.

Got ahead of myself a bit on reassembly, had to take the header panel back off to put those stupid radiator support rods on...

Anyway its almost back together. I had a good set of head light housings and I threw away the old ones, but forgot to take the little circular and rectangular mounts off the old housings, so the head lights are a little cockeyed right now, gonna have to fix that. Also when I relocated the battery, I put the tray a little too close and the back of the right side bulb hits the battery mount and I can't set the light in fully....crap! Thought I was going to have it buttoned up tonight, just another little pain in the butt to fix. Anyway I'm gonna try to get it cranked up tomorrow. In this pic it looks like the clear coat is faded, its not, just my crappy iphone pics at night,,,,sorry bout the poor pics btw...

And my 5.9 parts stash is getting low, I'm down to one spare fan now....

    It's coming along great!

I was noticing that frame area. Slightly dirty but when you look at it there really isn't much of any rust at all. NICE!
